‍ ‍A House Built to Last for Generations

A sunset with a gentle breeze blowing. Children laughing in the yard. Deep conversations around a fire. Food that nourishes and gives life. We build the house that holds all of it, and we build it to outlive us.

Hayhurst Brothers... The best life has to offer.

We build modern houses in a part of Texas that mostly does not.

Mid-century modern. Atomic ranch. Texas modern. Hill Country without the clutter. Our neighbors build stone and brick under an arched entry, and they build it well, and it is not what we do. We have spent 15+ years learning how a flat roof sheds water in Wise County, how a clerestory faces the summer sun without cooking the room beneath it, and how a steel beam gets set so a wall of glass can open onto a creek bottom or a beautiful open field. That knowledge does not come out of a plan book. It comes out of doing it, on real ground, many times.

If you have been carrying a picture of a house that nobody around here seems willing to build, you are in the right place.

as seen on:

A man filming a woman and a man on a wooden platform outdoors surrounded by trees.
Logo of the diy network featuring the words 'diy network' in lowercase, with 'diy' in large bold letters and 'network' underneath, on a black background.
Two men working in a woodworking shop with a videographer filming them. One man is operating a machine. The workshop has various woodworking tools and materials, with sunlight coming through large windows.
Logo for HGTV Home & Garden featuring a stylized house roof above the text.
A family of three sitting inside a cozy living room near large windows with a view of trees, with a large circular overlay featuring the text 'Thank You! Best in DFW, The Dallas Morning News, People's Choice Top 3 Home Builder!' and a small logo in the bottom right corner.

Bring us the land, or the idea of the land, or the picture you tore out four years ago. We will spend an hour with you, tell you honestly whether what you want can be built for what you want to spend, and tell you if we are the wrong builder for it. No fee and no obligation for that hour.
